If it was a 1024 Linux would not have installed. Check
your hard disk for corrupt sectors. ALso since the
your linux starts the booting process, LILO or LOADLIn
is not an issue here.
I think the install process did not go smoothly. Try
reinstalling. If you can then try to get your box to
boot in text mode and then try troubleshooting.
RH CD has a recovery mode . try Knpooix for booting.
Then you can examine yout init script. That can help
sort out the problem.
