this is a little off topic, but an amazing story:
someone got ripped off by a fraudster on eBay, in selling off a macintosh.
amazingly, the whole macintosh community jumped in, tracked the guy down, 
involved the feds, the police, home-grown detectives and the works, and 
*nailed* the guy proper.

i have been a veteran mac guy using them since 1984, and apple machines 
before then. i have always missed that extremely strong bonding among mac 
guys, in the mainstream wintel world. thankfully, i have found that spirit 
once more in the linux community.
jumping into the linux community brings back all the joys, adventures, and 
the rebellious spirit that helped found the computing industry during its 
inception.
