i'm sorry if this query has been answered before. can yu point me to the
archives of the mailing list, so that i should search that before posting
this.
i got a new original intel 845 system assuming that it'll definitely be
compatible with my mandrake 9.0. however, after doing the entire
installation, when i configured X, it didn't work! it only supports
resolutions upto 640x480 and i'm used to 1024x768.
after doing lot of searching, including the intel site, it said, it is not
fully supported, however yu can try a workaround and use "vesa" instead of
my i845 drivers in my /etc/X11/Xf86config-4 file. after doing that, it did
work, i could use 1024x768 in full color. But, :-|, when i logout from X,
the screen goes blank. everything is working, but i can't see anything,
and i've to do CTRL+ALT+F4 to login to root, and reboot the system
(CTRL+ALT+DEL also works).
can anyone provide any pointers to the relevant site or a workaround till
hmm 2.6.0?
