Hi, Recently, there have been a couple of messages asking for info on how to make out a case for switch over to Linux in their Organisation. While Linux is a great piece of work which can be a boon for cash-strapped economy like ours, it is a pity that the decision makers are lacking in awareness, are simply callous or haven' been able to overcome the FUD relating to M$. It will be nice if the ILUGD people team up to address the problem in larger interest of the country. The recent article in Economic Times regarding the MIT's new plan/policy to adopt OSS does not seem to have been followed up.
I am drawing attention to links to a couple of articles which can help individuals to make out cases for their Organisations. Hope, they are useful! - 1. http://www.dwheeler.com/oss_fs_why.html 2. http://www.infonomics.nl/FLOSS 3. http://www.mitre.org/support/papers/tech_papers_01/kenwood_software/ Bye, -- narsingh ________________________________________________________________________ Missed your favourite TV serial last night?
