It was a private decission but the whole discussion could help people decide on future endeavours. Considering the fact that Yahoo is opting for PHP I cant really say it is a PR for Perl now is it ?? I have just forwarded the opinion of the mod_perl community so that some more facts are known to the linux community in general in case someone is making decissions on choice of programming language for their future projects. I dont think the discussion was technical enough to warrant being restricted to Linux-India-Programmers. I am sure the admins would have pointed it out if I was so out of line.
