Would you care to contrast it with the "non-modern world's" approach?  And I
am confused about the "farce" aspect.  As far as I know, "farce" has 2
meanings:

1
Light Drama, usually comic by exageration
2
Mockery of a real object

Which were you meaning?  There is also a third meaning, "stuffing, ususally
before roasting a turkey", by I don't think that applies here.
