hi all,

i have a live server(RedHat 7.1) running multiple virtual host...with
apache-1.3.19-5...
I've downloaded apache patch rpm from redhat and this is what I got.
To upgrade apache 1.3.22-1.7.1 version I have to install mod_bandwidth
and other things.
error: failed dependencies:
        mod_bandwidth is needed by apache-1.3.22-5.7.1
        mod_put is needed by apache-1.3.22-5.7.1
        mod_throttle is needed by apache-1.3.22-5.7.1

if i go for the installation of mod_* it shows
error: failed dependencies:
        apache < 1.3.22-1 conflicts with mod_bandwidth-2.0.3-2
        apache < 1.3.22-1 conflicts with mod_put-1.3-2
        apache < 1.3.22-1 conflicts with mod_throttle-3.1.2-3
i checked at some site it suggested
"......1. Install the required mm-* packages mentioned at the RedHat.com
errata page.
2. Shut down your apache server (I don't know if this has to be done)
3. rpm -ivh --nodeps --force mod*
4. rpm -Fvh apache*
5. Restart your apache server
It worked for me, but as always .. don't blame me if your installation
didn't..."

it did work on my local testing server. i want to be sure that others
have done thru the
same way or is there is some other way around. i have to be certain as i
have multiple sites hosted on my server.
i have tried rpm -Fvh mod_*.. same errors..please help.
