Hi! Ashish (and everybody) I have calculated in this way ..... (do correct me if i am wrong, and this to upload a data file......through 'ftp'???) ....
-90% of 64kbps = 57.6 kbps. -1 MB = 1024 kb. -1024 / 57.6 = 17.777777 OR aprox. 18 sec -Therefore if 1MB is taking 18 sec, so 100MB will take 1800 sec. , ie. 29.6 min (1800/60) or aprox 30min @57.6kbps (90% of 64kbps) - so for 700MB, it should take 30min x 7(times) = 210min ie. 3.5 Hrs (210 / 60) I get 3 1/2 hrs OR at the out most i can assume 4Hrs. i am lil confused....pl do not take any offence .... but do explain Thanks Nitin Chandra --- Ashoo <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > 64 kbps = 8kBps > so if ur network works at 100% efficiency, it'll > take 12800 seconds or > around 3 1/2 hours to upload 100mb > coz 12800 x 8 x 1024 = 100M > > although downloading usually doesnt go beyond 60%, > uploading goes upto 90%. > > so expect atleast 4 hours to up load 100MB > and 4 x 7 = 28 hours for 700 MB (just in case u > donno how to get that :) ) > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Nitin Chandra" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 12:16 PM > Subject: [ilugd]: UPload > > > > Hi! > > every body > > can some body tell me how much time does it take > to > > upload a 100mb to 700mb file ...through a > dedicated > > 64kbps net link....any other way apart from > ftp...?? > > > > thanks > > bye > > > > __________________________________________________ > > Do you Yahoo!? > > New DSL Internet Access from SBC & Yahoo! > > http://sbc.yahoo.com > > > > > ================================================ > > To unsubscribe, send email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in > subject header.
