Hi!

I am new to Linux.
I wanted to load Linux on my PC.
The version I tried out was PCQLinux 7.1
(That was the only version I could lay my hands on.)

I tried loading Linux with graphics (GNOME & KDE both)
on my PC. The partition, formatting and preliminary
installation was so smooth, I could not believe.

Then came Trouble with T capital!
The setup would not recognise my Graphics Adapter and
Monitor.

I have a P4 with MSI6526G motherboard. It uses Intel
845G chipset with integrated graphics controller. I
have 128 MB of PC2100 DDR RAM. I have Samsung
SyncMaster 753s monitor.

The setup autoprobed to "Generic VGA compatible" and
"DDC probed Monitor -> SAM0027"

Both my Monitor and Graphics controller were absent in
the list. Intel 810 and 815 chipsets, however appeared
in the adapter list in the setup.

I tried all combinations and everytime it failed to
show up a decent graphics trial screen.

When I ignored the settings, and proceeded to complete
the setup, it gave a flickering screen on startup,
even before taking any login ID.

As I am new, the text mode of linux is not all that
helpful. If somebody can help me in some way, I would
be grateful.

Thanks in Advance,
-Krishna.
