hi i'd recommend qmail to use as your mail server. the installation is a bit tedious, but once installed successfully, it is quite fast. in fact yahoo also uses it.
you can follow the tips on installation of qmail http://www.qmail.org <- qmail source packages, you can also get more info on the site itself. search for "life with qmail" in google, there excellent documentation is there on how to setup a qmail system. by my experience, it took me 1 day for the first install, then approx. an hour for subsequent installs on diff machines. and it is worth it as far as speed and stability is concerned. any questions, you can post them on the list. vivek On Sun, 2000-08-06 at 07:57, Dhruv Soi wrote: > Hii Everybody, > How you doing?Actually Im from programming side in C and Asm >and now a days im in system administation, And ive just done linux upto user >level....like commands and a bit shell programming........And my first assignment is >to configure mail server on linux 7.3....So first thing that i wanna know is that >which type of system that setup prompts in the begining i install coz i always >installed Custom type....and i don't know that to configure a server which one should >i install......Secondly, which specific package i will be in need of , to configure >mail server........all the clients are on WINNT platform..... > > Thank You Very Much > > Regards, > > Dhruv Soi > System Administrator > FCS LTD. > A-86, Noida-201301 > Phone - 0120- 4583703*109 > Mobile- 9811306965 ================================================ To unsubscribe, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe in subject header.
