Rahul, Welcome to weird world of Windows Domain Browsing...a protocol has an "election" to choose the designated browser. Now the problem that you see might be caused by more than one m/c trying to become a domain/local master browser. Do you have a Windows PDC on your network? If so, turn off the "Domain Master" and "Preferred Master" options in your smb.conf file on the Linux m/c. If you don't have a PDC, the try increasing the value of "OS Level" to 65 in smb.conf. Wait for some time after this - say upto 15 mins - definetely more than 12 mins [elections happen every 12 mins] and try again. Regards, -Varun P.S. I just figured this out - the www in www.microsoft.com must stand for the "Weirld World of Windows". I know, it's lame :) -- --------------------------------------- Mindframe Software & Services Pvt.
