Interoperability shud mean.. the following things 1. A Linux DNS server should be able to provide Name services to an otherwise windowz based network. E.g Active Directory service in Win2k servers require a DNS server, but the DNS server can be a BIND server or a Win2k DNS server 2. Samba-- A Linux machine can act as a Winnt/Win2k domain controller to authenticate Windowz clients. AND a Linux machine can be added to a winnt/win2k Domain
3. Linux based Mail clients connecting to an Exchange server to send reciweve mail, or Windowz clients connecting to a Qmail/sendmail etc mailserver for E-mail. 4. A Linux proxy server for Win clients and vice-versa I think even PHP code that runs on Apache/Linux as well as IIS would come under interoperability Mani Send me the TOC ASAP -----Original Message----- From: amit soni [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, April 25, 2002 5:20 AM To: multiple recipients of Subject: Re: [ilugd]: Intraoperability of linux/windows !
