hi
yes there can only be 4 primary partitions
actually just after the MBR(thats the boot sector) of
the hard disk there is a partition table stored
which consists of 4 16-byte entries for maximun of 4
primary partitions. It ends with the no. 0xAA55
You can also make the partition logical.
