Hi, For those of you who've been wondering what's going on (i.e. those who're not subscribed to the rms-visit list yet :-), here's a quick update on RMS' visit to Delhi:
RMS shall be in Delhi from 17th evening to 20th evening. Sarai (www.sarai.net) is sponsoring his visit and also putting him up at their guest house in Patparganj where he will have all mod cons, food and the company of a few techie people. Sarai is also putting a car a his disposal. So far there's only one confirmed item on RMS' agenda: the talk at Sarai at 15:30 on 20th March. All are invited. Another talk at JNU is pending approval from RMS and the JNU powers-that-be, whom Ajith Kumar <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> is coordinating with. Apart from that RMS doesn't want an overfull agenda, so the only other stuff we're planning is meetings with press people and with government officials. If you have contacts in the press or in the Ministry of IT, please use them to get RMS and the ideas behind free software as much exposure as possible. This is a great opportunity to build interest in the public, and once the basic interest is generated we can sustain it with regular articles, interviews, etc. I'm working on a press release (which I'm quite rotten at), will send it to the list once it is in some sort of shape. If you wish to look at the draft please send me a mail. Thanks to all who volunteered to put RMS up. If you have ideas about other activities which we could have while he's here, please join the rms-visit list and post them there. mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=subscribe .
