Hi
Your problem might be due to an older
motherboard/BIOS. some older BIOSes don't allow the
boot sectors to be above the 1024 cylinder limit. So,
for intstance if you installed Linux after installing
a Windows and also making an extended partition,
you're already past the 102 cylinder limit. So when
you create a Linux native partition, your MB may have
problems with it. You could get a new BIOS
chip/Motherboard. by the way, Redhat 7.1 installation
does warn u about this problem when installing, infact
Disk Druid will just refuse to allocate primary
partitions above 1024 cylinders. If you got that
warning, there is a high probability this is your
problem.

hi
  i have installed Rhat 7.2 on 40 GB hdd.i m facing
problems like
1)at reboot and halt sometimes system is not able to
umount partitions
2)at many times i face kernel errors (like page
fault,OOPs etc)

does any can tell me is there something  wrong with
hdd.
i have heard that 40GB hdds give problems

pls help
