Dear Pancham This is could be a great and fulfilling project if you are willing to put in whole hearted efforts and wont get disheartened by small failures.
I started on Linux like this about four years back when I wanted to transfer all my users from a thrid party email provider and host them inhouse. I set off with two Redhat 5.2 CDs, a boot disk, a 486 PC with a multiport serial card and lots of dedicated time! I sat there in a corner of my office for the next one month, every day I would arrive at the office early with a lot of enthusiasm and set about installing the Linux first.Every evening I would return home with something more to read. Sometimes feeling miserable sometimes thrilled and excited. The journey was very amazing and after lots of ups and downs and moments os truths I arrived at a point where the I had a complete mail server which would provide users a dial in access and fetch and recive mails for them. The system is still operational and I have not touched it since then. Hooray Linux!! since then I am hooked! Wish you all the best with your endeavour. All that you need to know is there and more! All you need is a calm mind, an enquiring attitude and respect and honour for the knowledge!
