Hi all,
I have a small query. I have a win2K domain structure with all winNT or
win2K machines. I have a leased line coming in. I (and folks of my div.)
generally ride on the corporate network for my internet and i want to use
this leased line for part time internet access. I want to use linux and
squid for the job, i can devote a 64 MB RAM, 166 MHz processor for the
purpose, but my only concern is that whether linux will be able to provide
me with full internet access or just web proxy access. Something like 'will
i b able to FTP from the command prompt from my machine without making any
changes to existing setup, by just changing the webproxy i use'. Users of
winsock proxy access would b able to understand my problem easily, its like
can i just change the name of the winsock proxy, update mspclnt and ride on
a new proxy with winsock access ?? though there might some other changes
(cos mspclnt is only for win2K machines) like adding a route to the new
proxy or something (that would always work, i think so)
So my query is can this b done, if yes then how ??
one more thing, feel free to correct me if i got some of my concepts mixed
up here ;)
thanx
-doof
