Too much analysis will lead to paralysis :-) The best way to learn swimming is to get into the water. Begin in the shallow end and work your way towards the deep end. You'll slip and learn some lessons the hard way, which, incidentally is the surest way. You'll have to curb the tendency to look up to the 'aces' and seek their approval. They don't care!
