Yes the software would be free but I have some confusion here. How do people working in FOSS technology make some earning out of it. I mean I am ready to dedicate my full time into it - but I need some fund as I would space / resource and hardwares.
So where does money related to all this activities / expenses comes from - where does the monthly working capital comes in? Is it just the credibility that the team gets for developing FOSS technology - let us pick one example - Python - they have a huge portal / resource and their software is free to develop apps - in case I start working voluntary (to fix bugs / support) for Python team - what would I get in return - this just for the concern that if I leave my job and dedicate my work for FOSS development the basic question of survival is defending me to do so?
