Hi, We can find the Windows partition from Linux machines. Formate will not be a good option to remove the files as there are lots recovery tools to retrieve the old windows files from the HDD, even if you have formatted the disk. Microsoft is now doing door knocking and ask for the genuine license. Seems they need some more fund for this financial year. They have some tools to track the cracked license.
So before formation we need to remove all existing windows files before formatting the HDD. I am trying to use the following commands to delete the files on my HDD. scrub -p dod -f /dev/sdb1 and shred -n 100 -vz /dev/sdb1 But this commands will take more time to complete the task.
