Being involved in the IT industry in India for quite a few years now led me to a similar conclusion. We see so many young people with lofty aspirations but with few willing to guide them and share knowledge. I have seen first hand a quite protectionist attitude from senior IT people when dealing with juniors. You will see that we are touching a number of subjects with the hamara project - reaching youth at the school stage is one of our priorities - I think that's where the training should start. My ten year old successfully built his own PC and installed hamara on it recently. He is now coding web pages in html. There is no age, race, gender or any other barrier in hamara! I concur that Industry needs skilled man power but also that people need control over their technology and so spreading the knowledge far and wide is very important to us. _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc ILUGC Mailing List Guidelines: http://ilugc.in/mailinglist-guidelines
