If you could download the video you can omxplayer (guess omxplayergui is a gui for omxplayer). omxplayer uses the video decoding capability of the rpi it is really fast and does consumes less power.
You need a browser that supports html 5 to get youtube running on rpi. If your browser does not supports video decoding using the video decoder hardware then power consumption will increase and playback will not be smooth. It is better to download and play using omxplayer.
