I have used Windows 7 Disk Management to create free space and use that frees pace to create partition during installation (Linux Mint) without any issues. The below tutorial (for Mint again but approach should be fine for Ubuntu as well) guided me then. http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2011/06/11/dual-boot-linux-mint-11-and-windows-7/ Am not sure If your laptop is UEFI enabled since Windows 7 is installed by default. You may have to disable secure boot then. -- Cheers, Anand Radhakrishnan When there is a drive, there is a path.
