Let me explain what all I've tried. a) Edit a file already existing. Mark in colours comes up well. b) Open a new file for edit and mark up does not come up at all as we edit. c) Open a recently created file and the same thing happens. d) On any of these new files, colorscheme works in changing the colour but all text appears in the same colour. My surmise: a) All characters marked as delimiters for mark up colours has somehow been cleared.
