0. I don't think RHEL 5.6 has any active support (for CentOS 5.6 I know this is true) [a]. 1. I would suggest upgrade to 5.9, if you have RHN then this is definitely your legit right. Otherwise switch to CentOS 5.9. 2. To the best of my knowledge the native apache RPM for RHEL/CentOS does support openssl. I have deployed a few web sites on CentOS and I did not have to build from source to get openssl support. Any particular reason why you are building from source?
