Everybody and their grandmother in the linux DE developer community hates cannonical for their announcement. They should have worked with wayland to sort out their issues, instead one day they announced Mir out of the blue with a rant about wayland as their reason (which turned out to be nonsense anyway). On a positive note, their announcement made both gnome and kde guys hurry up with their support for wayland. I see Ubuntu as a falling distro which was once great. I am sure Mir will be as successful as unity. -- Sincerely, A.
