I have been concerned about this for some time now.

We need more privacy awareness for common people.
The Free Software Movement has a crucial role to play in bring privacy
tools to the masses.

Don't look to the government to save you.
The government, as it exists, is an outmoded institution.
But being outmoded can be forgiven, and corrected.
The real problem is that the government is essentially corrupt.
All other problems will be fixed only after corruption is addressed.

If your Windows machine has been hacked, do you just sit there while rival
hacker groups ( political parties ) fight for control?
Or do you install Free Software?

The government is like that Windows machine, offering windows into our data
to the NSA, and anyone with a backdoor.
We really can not and should not trust our own government. To do so, is
anti-democratic.

Cheers,

- Ashwin.
