While the letter from the AICTE chairman quotes http://www.aicte-india.org/downloads/Commercial%20Software.pdf to show that AICTE doesn't limit any institutions from using open source software, there is still this document on the AICTE site http://www.aicte-india.org/downloads/AICTE_notice.pdf that says that this Microsoft Office 365 is mandatory for all institutions. In fact this is the link being shared with the colleges asking them to do the necessary to complete the migration. P.S. Please follow the mailing list guidelines and do not top post.
