Educational Institutions seems be the first hindrance to spread
the use of Free Software where a large number of students learn
to use the computer.

Recently I had an argument with my college senior staff about
their indirect promotion of Wind0w$.

She told
" We are not promoting it. We are just comfortable with it and hence
we use it ".

I asked, " What is your problem in using free software that can make
you accomplish the same task ? "

she told
" Every Institution has its own standard, and Wind0w$ is standard for
our institution.
you have no rights to question us why ! "

and I was disappointed when she told this,
"Moreover Anna University ( to which the college is affiliated ) has
clearly given the option
to opt Wind0w$ as lab requirements (http://goo.gl/gJxKS) "

Syllabus is controlled by the university, and all its affiliated
colleges are following its norms.
Since the university itself indirectly promoted the proprietary
software , I can't speak anymore.

If someone here able to pass this message to Anna University
please do it and bring some change in its norms.

PS: ( until then I will be forced to use non-free software which I can't bare )
