In almost all cases, apps for Android are written in Java. Yes, native apps
can be written in C, but it will be a nightmare to write an application
like MS Office with the NDK alone. Android apps do not even have to know
that the underlying OS is Linux based. I wonder what the `source` is
talking about... I might have understood it wrongly though.
