Found out what the problem was I had "chromium-browser" installed and
"google-chrome" was getting updated on a frequent basis. The reason why
chromium-browser did not get upgraded is because these two PPA's were
missing on my /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/ppa/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/ppa/ubuntu lucid main

So for the next question of what is the difference between Chromium and
chrome I found these two url helpful, if at all any one is interested in it.
