Updating dynamic IP address in the DNS records using the nsupdate
command requires not
only technical knowledge but also other things like how to obtain the
zone's records and so on.

IPv4 address is becoming scarce and companies are charging 2.5k or 5k
per year for static
IP but private enterprises are used to this. But all companies cannot
afford and I wonder
how long this will go on.

I don't see any IPv6 being deployed and for a very long time to come
dynamic IPs are going to
 be a reality.

And if you run a VPN with multiple nodes how will you get to the node
without knowing the
static IP?

Of course you don't have one.

So?

Yes, you have to use dynamic DNS but that does not come free even from
dyndns.org.

The solution is to either pay someone to do your own.

Which is what I am planning to do.

After I get it going I will let you know.

Basically if you buy one domain, you can create 1000 subdomains for free.

And if you get access to the zone's records you can manipulate the way you want
 with UNIX.
