Guess fedora 16 has not done a fsck (file system check) after power
failure. It happens in many distros - fedora some time did not do a fsck
after hard reset saw this behavior in fedora 10 (and afterwards in Ubuntu
and mint also). Try to do a file system check with a live CD or force file
system check after reboot (there is some method which I forgot please
google for it). Try to save the file again and share the result.
