-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I'm having this weird problem. I don't know if anyone has come across this. The situation is as follows: 1. Laptop (not on power) runs low on battery 2. Warning dialogue pops up saying the system will Hibernate if I don't plug in. I ignore the warning. ( No clicking OK or Cancel ) 3. Multiple warning dialogues pop up one after the other. Ignore them all .. Don't close or click buttons. 4. Critical warnings pop up ( n number of times ) 5. System hibernates. I plug it in and then switch it on. 6. I give the password. The system is live. I can see all the warning dialogue boxes still open. 7. Again hibernates abruptly. I switch it on.. 8. Again and again it hibernates as many times as the number of critical dialogue boxes that popped up. I drained most of the battery and then switched it on ( not on power) to test it. I got only two critical warnings. And then it hibernated exactly twice.. I can replicate the problem in my Dell Laptop with Ubuntu LTS 10.04 installed with all the latest updates. I kept an application open just in case. Here are my power settings while on battery: * Never put computer to sleep * When battery is low, hibernate. * When lid is closed, suspend. Is this a Gnome problem or an Ubuntu problem? Any clues?? - -- Y -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJORKMRAAoJEOhc4d8atv32WBUH/0EqjRjfcWYcOgEe1yWns7cS 69llgwd6h0TlblquaNpqePifoecqyT30VinzTHgygwqw5+D77xvC5FCnIfCeQbeQ H/y9lmsC9yZMkQngBB3zWuvJJl5VQLyJUaPm2D7aVIYzB+fn2ZqUJtTF0N2WA6uu yih6cgPTxqFfPAQ7rzYWzgZW4KxoQTy/6IzjbNjplqBRqVM6Qgwrah1QRbZU2Lvh r7gvmA7g/RlkDL4dnxzfwBd36+8OkP+OR/sH4yel3Uhv3/trJHXQ3NAR815FE6CT uYbvtHFR/m96JnS7HNbIogsUk6fiyVT64a62IMKiLALF3z3zszJ6xEY6m0PaQJU= =WIpj -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
