You can subscribe to the package's tracking information by going to
http://packages.debian.org/e/emacs-goodies-el.html and submitting your
e-mail address bottom right form. That way, you receive upload
information, bug reports and other such details via e-mail.

Do you have ImageMagick package installed ? To view all images
within present directory as preview thumbnails, on a term do:
$ display 'vid:*.jpg'        # Change extension as appropriate
