We use our own FOSS lab server for setting up the lab. Fedora-14 is being
used for lab setup using customized kickstart file which installs about
6400+ packages from the fedora-14 repository.

As the existing power conditions is a big trouble here, we use 2 FOSS lab
servers to complete the lab setup as quick as possible. We usually start
the lab setup process by 9.30 am and complete before 2.30 pm (it takes
around 4-5 hours to complete 30-35 computers).

Regarding softwares, almost all packages in the fedora repository is being
installed. We install software packages for every proprietary equivalent
(will post the kickstart file and inform the list soon).

Can you share your disk image of the server if you are using thin client?

We don't use any disk image, as the installation is being done through PXE
based remote installation.

I am also having idea about providing one FOSS lab server for all LUGs in
India to simplify FOSS lab setup in academic institutions. Requesting
members to share their ideas/toughts on this.
