Where have you heard the above terminology? PRI/BRI is a digital line with an array of 64 Kbps channels + signaling channels for ISDN [1] telephony services. ISDN adoption has been slow (almost non existent) but the transport technology has been adapted to other data/telephony communication services with adapters at respective ends of the pipe.
