Hi,

Today, the first phase of the FOSS lab setup at Computer Center, MIT was
done with the servers provided by LinuXpert Systems. 64 systems were
installed with Fedora 14 (with around 6400 packages) or Fedora 13 (around
4500 packages) based on the configuration of the system.

Though all the systems were running GNU/Linux (CentOS) earlier, we believe
that this installation with such a large number of packages would make the
students realize the availability of a huge variety of software for each
domain. (When people could not find a pre-installed alternative for a known
proprietary software, most of them switch back to Windows immediately,
without looking for the available packages.)

Thanks to the volunteers from KanchiLUG who helped us in the the process.
