Nice idea and I am sure ilugc team would help . Anyways making them the 'local pc guys' is better than making someone who knows everything to mess with windows :) My suggestions would be to go slow while teaching them and show them simple tasks like installing, patitioning ,painting, picture editing , office applications etc which would first make them comfortable with the desktop . Obviously the software manager works by default in ubuntu hence a bit of practise I guess is all they need to know . But as with any GNU/Linux machine some times they get stuck in issues like network configuration ,mobile broadband , printer , sound ,graphic and other driver issues. This is where we teach them free software communication and make them approach ilugc or even better teach them googling or asking in ubuntu forums , IRC etc ( I know its overkill but it helps ) .
