Dear Members,
I have done successfully remote installation of fedora 14 using pxe,tftp,dhcp
and nfs/http. The contents of the Fedora 14 DVD were copied into a particular
directory and shared through nfs. I did it based on the article downloaded
from the following link-
http://www.linuxhomenetworking.com/wiki/index.php/Quick_HOWTO_:_Ch25_:_Network-Based_Linux_Installation
However, I'am unable to do it with ISO images. I couldn't get proper
articles to do the same. Kindly help me with the steps.
This might help:
<http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/14/html/Installation_Guide/ch-Preparing-x86.html#s1-steps-network-installs-x86-nfs>
I highly recommend at least skimming through the guide and reading the relevant
sections if you are new to Fedora.
Secondly, I would like to know in remote installation which is more faster-
DVD installation tree based or ISO image based.
I would imagine both would take approximately the same time, although tree based
might be somewhat faster.
cheers,
- steve
