+1 for Reliance Netconnect. Wanted to pick up a Tata Photon+, and realized that my hometown (AP) wasn't covered in the list. Reliance has a far bigger list of covered towns/villages, it keeps me connected (mostly around 250-300 kbps, I suspect) in my small-ish hometown and almost all through the journeys to and fro, which is good enough for me. I use it with my Ubuntu netbook, and you don't even have to use wvdial. You can just configure it from the network manager applet (which has settings in-built for both Reliance and Tata modems - just enter your assigned number as both username and password).

Vamsee.
