Before doing this I just tried a live cd of ubuntu onm my dell laptop since it just worked fine tried the same on my desktop where I have this usb adaptor. Now I installed the same on 100 gb partition in a dual boot. See if can also get any usb wifi adaptor my choice for usb is to reduce no of cables cluttering the table. It also works with xp system from where I transfer files like any other network work group set up.
