Motivated individuals like basker are a great asset to the community :)

+1 , All we as outsiders need to remember that the more we cry/shout
on Govt/univ organisations/bodies the more we would be alienating them
.

The best we could do is to see if we could help them come closer to
the community . Try personally emailing them twice before we bring the
issue to a mailing list .

Good that you have taken initiative to go to that place , well '
windows ' a propreitary OS is not IMHO a huge 'Hall of Shame' kind of
thing ,but did you see how many free softwares that windows had
installed?

Some people still use the propreitary windows because of their comfort
levels in using a distro /environment . But I think with proper
guidance and our(community) efforts in explaining the importance and
values of free software , things might change .

Lets hope to hear more from them and collaborate more from them .

Well Syllabus change and good support by NRCFOSS AUKBC to the events
in and around tamilnadu with a strong ILUGC backing did rock chennai
in terms of FOSS :)

Well NRCFOSS AUKBC has planted a seed called 'FOSSCONF' , would love
to see the tree and the fruits :)

Let all of us pour some water and give it some sunshine !
