Hi,
> Quest 1: What do you mean by this line? Is there any restriction that other >>Groups based on GNU/Linux is not able to accommodate peeps? LUG seems to me a multi cultured domain, meaning people from all walks of life in OSS world and not simply complied to gnu gpl. AFAIK, There are people from BSD community part of Chennai Lug. >>Quest 2: What is the Goal of LUG that you are currently working with? >>Can i build an web app using FOSS+ adobe flex platform IMO, Lug does not endorse any proprietary software, instead i feel as a lugger it is worth to work for a solution by using FOSS as one of a tool. LUG allows a developer like me to present a talk on RoR UI environments, comparing functionality with Javascript and Adobe flex. Now talking with regard to plus points and connections in between both Javascript and adobe flex.I am not sure , is this permissible under GLUG?. >>Quest 3: As an LUG, Is there no way that we can develop an alternative for this? Very constructive thought, if some thing available as good as one software, as an individual, i will adopt it. >>Quest 4: Is there any pre-written Statements for LUG stating about getting shifted from proprietary softwares? or any LUG statements apart from Indian community? replied for question no 2, hope it answers this , my personal view though. One of my question is not answered ! from our Glug friend.. Query1: Is a dual boot way of installing linux is permissible in a GLUG?. I heard Mr.Siddarth of FSF India Talking on FSF principles in the august lug meet about Anti Microsoft policy and went on saying "hitting an microsoft guy". on the other hand I would love to quote Linus Torvalds sayings "I love seeing people who are really passionate about what they do, and many people have something they really care about. It’s just that when that becomes something exclusionary, it often gets ugly. It’s not passion for something, it becomes passion against something else." "This is, just to take an example, one of the reasons I try to avoid talking much about Microsoft - I’m very passionate about Linux (obviously), but quite frankly, I really find the whole notion of Linux as being “against Microsoft” to be silly and wrong-headed". I leave to the wisdom of each individual on which line they need to pursue. regards, Thyagarajan Shanmugham _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
