The star projector cannot be used to project slides/images. It projects
points of light through 100's of lenses.
The secondary dome projector in Chennai is a regular high lumen projector.
It projects the images/slides into a spherical mirror which reflects into
the dome. The images are all pre-rendered as fish eye projections. The
spherical mirror projects these fish eye images into the dome which creates
the visual treat. Even if you get this setup, you need to create fish eye
slides.

In fact I am trying to help/persuade them to change this into a Linux based
Stellarium presentation. They are stuck with old proprietary software for
the shows.
