hi an educational institution has decided to go completely open source. Among other things they are required to have 2 labs with 60 machines each. They have been advised to go in for: http://www.ncomputing.com/ which will save money and energy. I cannot make out if this is an open source solution. Apparently they have to buy 10 full fledged machines to which they attach the ncomputing box which costs 4000. To the ten machines they add 6 keyboards, monitors and mouses.
I was planning to suggest ltsp - but what would the economics of that be? would it compare with the ncomputing solution? what kind of thin clients are available and at what cost? -- regards kg http://livejournal.com/lawgon _______________________________________________ ILUGC Mailing List: http://www.ae.iitm.ac.in/mailman/listinfo/ilugc
