What has the talk about certifications got anything to do with whether Open Source is great or whether M$, Oracle, Sun etc dominate ?
If I understood Vagmi correctly, the post was about the huge disconnect between 
the certification 'industry' and the problem of ascertaining whether a person is 
capable of carrying out any useful 'real world' tasks related to the certification.
Not that I agree that certification has it's value[1], but I fail to understand 
the connection you are trying to make.
