$mc is a GUI Tool but an ASCII GUI.
It has its underpinnings in the MS DOS world and it has a distinct turquoise and a very appealing colorscheme with blue and red. It is a fantastic file manager and I have hardly ever used it. Perhaps you guys should help me out? Please try it and educate us if any of you are mc fanatics. It is short for 'midnight commander'. On the main menu at the bottom all the items are meant to mean that F1 to F10 family of keys on the topmost row of your keyboard. Hope that helps. Have fun.
