I agree to this. I knew the 'art of programming' was challenged when ORM
appeared on the scene :D
Nevertheless, this 'web 2.0' garb has forgotten the good old 'box softwares'
and the need-for-speed.
Cheap hardwares have taken precedence over writing some efficient code.

Also, a new sub-culture that i have seen in the last few years is the "I
read blogs - i know everything" thinking which continues to amuse/amaze me.

But, i think we cant generalize the observations based on web 2.0 arena
alone. IRC is filled with some smart a$$e$ who continue to humble me with
their intelligence.
