http://www.puppylinux.org Most of the USB bootable distros simply change their liveCD configuration to liveUSB configuration. For liveCD, 'isolinux' is the bootloader and for liveUSB, 'syslinux' is the bootloader. Both are created by 'Peter Anvin' for Syslinux project. http://syslinux.zytor.com/wiki/index.php/The_Syslinux_Project A loosly configured liveCD image can be converted into liveUSB by simply copying 'isolinux.cfg' to 'syslinux.cfg' with slight changes. Puppylinux is using this technique to install liveUSB into your pendrive from a liveCD session. It is possible to create liveUSB for any liveCD distros. But it will take time to tinker the scripts which are placed in iso image specific to liveCD sessions.
